THE TRAP!

A few people have expressed an interest in joining lunch crunch but have also expressed a hesitance because they don't feel like their work is "good enough" compared to other work they have seen posted here. I'm sure this issue is larger than this tiny blog, and those same folks wouldn't post on concept art, Zbrush central, cg talk etc.

Part of the idea behind lunch crunch is stated right in the banner: "Becoming better artists, one hour at a time." This idea basically means, there should be no element of competition between artists, but instead, you are competing with yourself to get better all the time by practicing your craft(s).

If you're feeling a little intimidated, please remember, the people who intimidate you started that way too. They practiced and practiced and then practiced some more, and so should you.

By saying you're "not good enough" to join in, and then letting that be a barrier, you create a negative cycle in which you don't feel good enough, so you don't try, then you don't get better, so you don't feel good enough, so you don't try, so you don't get.. PleaseDon't fall in to that trap.

After reading this, if you're still a little shy and don't want to post, that's cool, but whatever you do, please, practice making art every single day. You'll thank yourself later.
